Went fishing 🎣 in the 62.7 degree Millstone River on the north shore in Plainsboro, NJ, this evening on a cold 🥶, sunny day with a strong southwest wind. Threw out Walmart canned whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released a pickerel and bluegill while ultralight jigging. A big pickerel bit off my lure after jumping twice. Landed a yellow bullhead catfish double on my last cast of the day with corn 🌽 bait. A large, dark hawk landed in a tree on the other side of the river. Double crested cormorants, Canada geese, mallards 🦆 and great blue heron were flying. Saw 7 fishermen catch nothing. A lot of duckweed is still on the river. Carping may be done for this year.
