Went carping in 74.6 degrees Robert G Martin Lake on the north shore this evening for the first time since the flood during a cloudy ☁️, cool nor’easter. A black bear 🐻 was seen there recently but I didn’t find any bear 🐻 tracks in the mud. Saw lots of minnows for the first time this year. Threw out canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught 7 brown bullheads and a feral goldfish with corn 🌽 bait. Saw carp jumping out in the middle of the lake. A 29” 8 lb 1 oz winter skate that I tagged in the Manasquan Beach surf on 11/11/2024, was recaptured 8 miles south of Montauk Point, NY, on 5/25/2025 for my 259th fish 🐟 tag return.
