Went fishing π£ in the 71.7 degree Delaware River this evening on the outgoing tide after rain π§οΈ showers on a warm, partly sunny day with a light south wind. One car was in the parking lot when I arrived but I didnβt see anyone. A Fowlerβs toad πΈ was near the entrance to the public fishing π£ area when I arrived and was still there when I left. I threw out canned, whole kernel corn π½ for chum, then caught and released an 18β 2 lb 2 oz channel catfish with corn π½ bait. Lost a small fish π while ultralight jigging. Didnβt get a bite on my homemade corn meal bait. Minnows and fish π were jumping out of the water. Saw a dead American shad. Lots of boats and personal watercraft were on the river. Double crested cormorants, crows π¦ββ¬ and an adult bald π¦ were nearby. Mosquitoes π¦ were biting. Took lots of photos.
