Went fishing 🎣 in the 71.7 degree Delaware River this evening on the outgoing tide after rain 🌧️ showers on a warm, partly sunny day with a light south wind. One car was in the parking lot when I arrived but I didn’t see anyone. A Fowler’s toad 🐸 was near the entrance to the public fishing 🎣 area when I arrived and was still there when I left. I threw out canned, whole kernel corn 🌽 for chum, then caught and released an 18” 2 lb 2 oz channel catfish with corn 🌽 bait. Lost a small fish 🐠 while ultralight jigging. Didn’t get a bite on my homemade corn meal bait. Minnows and fish 🐟 were jumping out of the water. Saw a dead American shad. Lots of boats and personal watercraft were on the river. Double crested cormorants, crows πŸ¦β€β¬› and an adult bald πŸ¦… were nearby. Mosquitoes 🦟 were biting. Took lots of photos.
