Evil looking Bowfin. This fish was caught in March of 2017 but I thought he would be an interesting post for variety this time of year. I read that the green fins mean that he was in spawn, the eyespot on the tail indicates a male fish.

      interesting, i throw hula grubs (skirted grubs) often.

      They fight like hell! I caught one that I should have weighed last spring it may have been a state or line class record.... Caught on 4 pound test easily 12 pounds, ...more it was a 15 minutes fight

      Males and females both have spots, males have an orange outline around their spots while females have white rings.
