Got my first set of flatfish of the year. Nothing else was biting at all not even the bluefish. So I decided I was not getting skunked and I was going to at least get something. So I put myself upwind of a sandy slope and started bouncing the gulp of the bottom. Got two great thumps, both of which I opened the bail and let them take before setting and they were both decent sized flounders. Couldnt

      Well, we caught nothing but bait. Came home with an empty cooler.

      @ScottB I hear ya. Hoping to hit the surf or pier next weekend to catch some of those...then use them as bait for something bigger

      No. Most catches had FishBites either singly or in combination with other baits. Last week, they wanted Nikko. Today FishBites worked better, but still a challenge.

      Tell me about man. I only had two bites all day. I saw a huge bluefish swim buy but it was uninterested in anything. We're all your croaker on Nikko lures @ScottB ...more ?

      It was tough fishing today. We ended up with a decent number of croaker, but every catch was small and took a lot of effort to get.

      @TaylorG I've never tried mudminnows specifically simply because all the good baitshops that sell them are to far away, but I've used plenty of baits like ...more squid and mullet

      cool ive never caught a flounder...ever use mud minnows i hear they love em?

      Get anything else at all but a beautiful day and a couple of flatfish always leaves me happy. 83 air temp, water temp in mid 60s, some baitfish around, little action, ...more only two takes, wind was tough
