My first flatfish from the Gulf of Mexico. Believe the last one I caught was in the early 90's in the Pacific NW (way too long ago!). Still remembered how to undress this fella and get him ready for the pan. Caught on the first bar just as the sun set. Outgoing tide, 68* air with 10mph winds out of the SE. Water felt like it was in the high 50's.

      Wish I could tell you I was targeting them and it was skill based @GunnerNewberry but it was pure luck.

      all my years fishing down here still never caught a flounder in the surf!

      Couldn't get any big fish to commit, but the whiting bite was on. Also landed a ray, black drum and hardhead (😖) between the two of us
