Caught several Machaca today on Lake Arenal near the Arenal Volcano in Costa Rica. Will throw up another blert that shows the teeth. I was throwing a topwater plug and walking it. The fish would hit as soon as the bait splashed the surface. The Machaca is omnivorous and eats things that fall out of the rainforest trees such as fruits, nuts, and even bird droppings from cormorants.
