Casting close/ under the tree. She hit it pretty hard. first ever golden shiner. nice but slow day, fished for 4 hours and a total of 23 baby sunfish, 1 bluegill, and a 5.7 lb catfish (pictures aren't on my phone) pretty good day in the heat.

      Hate to be a downer for you, but that is not a Carp but rather a Golden Shiner. Still, even though your quest for carp continues, sounds like you had a good day!
