This was the second shark of the day, a bit longer and much thicker then the first also gave me an impressive fight. I had just casted out the fish and was walking away to setup my other pole when I looked back and realized I forgot to loosen the drag as my pole went flying toward the water.       Oh yeah, have lost many a reel to the sand and saltwater. Good luck getting it cleaned up!

      Ya but the first without the other results in endless frustration @matt the reel makes sand noises now but it still brought the fish in and a little shower will ...more hopefully fix that

      Slow day likely because of an annoying sandbar that formed about 80 yards off the beach. the surrounding water must have been to shallow for big fish and small Roundhead ...more was all I could get for bait.
