Not a gar but a fish at least. I was anchored up in 15 feet of water and casting into 20 feet of water. Would pump the rate trap off the bottom using a slow retrieve. After about 5 seconds this guy hit and pulled a little drag making it exciting. Weather was cloudy with a high of 90 and a water temp of 85°F. Water clarity was at around 12 feet. Big 40 pound carp were busting the surface all day
