I was told recently that fishing off the jetty with this Shimano Waxwing lure is good for Calico, sand, and other types of bass in the Dana Point Harbor. Wanna know if anyone with experience with this lure has any suggestions or recommendations on where specifically to fish with this, if I should let is sink or use it on the surface, best spots, etc. Please comment!!

Chris @Basselstiltskin 0Those work around kelp and shallow structure usually I fish them up top for bass on kelp lines in the summer and spring. In the harbor I've had luck with 3" ...more big hammers and 3/8oz war baits leadheads.

sparkdula 0I've fished that lure a lot down south, a little bigger one and got marlin to bass on them. I'd fish the top water for bass and berrys and then let it sink ...more for halibut , sand bass. They work good
