Had 3 foot bonnet heads all around me last weekend and got a couple to eat but didn't land them because I was using 15 lb tippet. But now I'm going back with bigger leaders and a few new flies to see if I can't catch a couple on the 9 weight. Whatcha think?!? Would love some feed back on fly fishing for sharks. @flybob @Cowboy713 and anyone else who may know any info?

@flybob that's a good idea, I was wondering how to get longer life out of my flys. I tied this popper up quick because I know it's gonna last maybe two strikes ...more from the sharks...

Yeah I was fishing or reds in knee deep water an had a bunch of em all around me. All I had was my fly rod so I tried and got a few of em to hit. Harder than you ...more think. They aren't always willing.

Man I'd love to give that a try I've pulled up about a four foot bonnet on spinning gear so I can't imagine how it would feel on fly gear.

@King_Fisher yeah they aren't monsters but I had a 3 footer pull off about a hundred yards of line in about 30 seconds and that was fun without landing the fish ...more so I can't wait to try it again.

Some tube flys would be great so you don't get so many torn apart ones

@pabucks I got them to take it but it was a hook I use for seatrout and redfish so it had the whole fly in it's mouth and cut me off but I hope it work with ...more the longer shank.

Sounds good I'm gonna get some wire. Maybe I'll record it. @Cowboy713 @flybob

Sounds really awesome you should record it but I'd use the shock wire tipper or tiger wire maybe even just use a straight 3ft piece of 50lb mono but the cheap ...more thick stuff

Go for it! You could also try 30lb wire leader, they won't be able to bite through it. Looks like a good setup for sure
