Which part of the tail is the "fun" part? @SwampMafia
    4. Swamp Mafia 0
I hook my live bait behind the dorsal and above the spine. Trimming the fun part of the tail will help keep them from swimming and tangling up the line. They can ...more be fished on a float or the bottom.

For big catfish I like circle hooks, like the mustad in 11/0 and big live sunfish or bullhead catfish. Dusk till dawn in the shallows and or heavy cover/structure.

Most of the time I find them in shallow water in or around structure.

For eating size channels and blues I like small live sunfish, shad or cut bait on kale or circle hooks around dusk. They can be around creek mouths or in the main ...more river in open water.

I catch all my big channels and blues around bends, log breaks and drop offs in rivers, I generally catch bigger catfish on cut up bream and smaller ones on chicken ...more liver. 30 pound test or higher

For shallow water Channels I use a 4/0 or 5/0 wide gap hook under a slip float with any sort of cut bait on. I like that rig because it's adjustable so you can ...more change what depth your fishing at.
