Lady bird lake gave up a monster for me today. 12 pounds 6 oz (I scaled her twice) and a big belly. Less than a pound away from the lake record. This fish fought like no other. Caught her in about 10fow next to some brush in my kayak. Don't worry I didn't keep her the bucket was just so I could get better pics without stressing her. Big thanks to John and tanner as well or helping me.

I don't have a kayak, do you think I can still catch bass like this? If so, are there any good spots where you don't need a kayak?

Nice fish wish I could catch another 26" fish agin myself to get measurements from to get a repro made but was young and dumb back then and ate it with some ...more fresh squeezed lemon and man was it good!

I know! I was a little but hurt but I can't complain about catching a beast like this @yich4
    13. I'm brand new to Austin. How do we turn in a sharedlunker if you do grab anything above 13lbs
    14. Richie Pusateri 0
Sweet man. Too bad it wasn't a Sharelunker. You were 11 oz shy of the current lake record too
    15. Jonathan Aljets 0

Nice improvisation! I bet the bucket brigader was licking his chops while you were using his bucket. ;)
    22. Demo_swag 0
The fish was able to fit sideways for the most part but it's head was downwards. @michang5
    23. Demo_swag 0
Out going back and forth with the scales and pictures we used the bucket. @michang5
    24. Demo_swag 0
When I caught it I was by myself so i couldn't get a good picture and I wanted to scale her with 2 different scales. So when my fiends came to not lose the fish ...more in the lake and to not stress it
    25. michang5 0
How did the bucket play a role in the fish care? Did you stick its head inside with tale sticking out? Not asking to open you up to criticism (in fact, it could ...more be brilliant). Really am curious.

Nicely done! Get a fiberglass repro done, you won't regret it. I had fish scale taxidermy do my 12-10 & love it!! Again congrats on the fish of a lifetime!!!

Good stuff man. Real respect for the skill to catch and thoughtfulness to let it go safely.

U can mount without killing the fish @River_Brothers_Outdoors
    31. Video and picture ur catch
    32. Why mount a beast when a picture is just as good and the thought of it still being alive and bigger in the lake you fish. Mounts are an old phase now
