Well I know where I'm never fishing again. I believe this is a wolf spider, a huge one. The leaf next to it was 2.5 inches. Scared the fire out of me, barely had the courage to take the picture. Venomous but a non-lethal bite, still not taking any chances.

      Looks like a wolf but maybe a huntsman. They get really Big. Also look like wolf spiders.

      It was a 3 y/o bird. Went right under 25 pounds, 12 inch beard, 1 1/4 inch spurs. @Cale

      Just looked it up, all I could come up with was more wolf spiders. Apparently their eyes shine when lights is on them, and they can walk on water. I think that might ...more have been what you saw? @DMyeWNY

      We kept shining a spiders eyes one night fishing when I googled it I think the common name was "water spider"

      Wolf spiders are pretty much harmless as far as I'm concerned. I find them in my house and patio from time to time and have never been bitten haha. Pretty docile ...more arachnids
