This tarpon was from early August and during this part of the year, most of the larger tarpon have moved out so we were using light rods with 10 lb test to have a good fight for some 40-50 pounders. Hooked up into this fish at 9:30 and after towing our boat 5 1/2 miles it broke the line at 2:40 in the afternoon. 5 hours and ten minutes later and this 100 lb fish won the battle.
