Had a 1-1/2 lb bass and lost the same 8 lb+ bass twice using 20 lb flouro leader and 50 lb braid main line, my friend caught it when it was 7 lbs and that was last year so its much bigger now

      It probably was not 8 pounds it could have been a five or six but 8 is a flat out monster

      Will be back there soon to get the one that got away. Biggest bass ive personally seen in my life.
