I saw it swimming in the surf and threw the net at it think its some kind of salt water gar

  Keep in mind I did catch this fish at a salt water beach not brackish some of my friends said needle fish but my grandpa said it was a some kinda gar

  Looks like a longnose gar. Brackish fish. Are you near a drainage by any chance?
