  90% of what I say is in total jest. I did definitely fillet, smoke cure and eat this bass, but I definitely don't have a moral issue with catch and release. ...more It's up to the angler. It should also be noted that this is from a canal directly outflowing from a lake that is stocked and a prime environment for an abundance of sizable fish. 3 to 4 pounders are not uncommon at all. I figured taking a couple wasn't going to hurt anything. Thus far, it hasn't. pulled out a 3.5 pound bass a couple days ago.
