James Jay 0these skipjack I caught was in a boat below old hickory dam in the turbid water produced by the generator turbines.

Tony DeMeo 0I don't know where exactly but I have usually caught them near the surface, in faster moving water with small spinners, flies and minnow imitating lures. I look ...more where the current is pushing debris and watch for and fish around the swirls. I don't target them specifically but have caught them like that.

Tony DeMeo 0Wow that's a lot of fish! That's some good fishing. Excuse my ignorance, I know they are herring but do you eat them? The Cumberland river is literally ...more out my back door near Rome. I've caught them and they fight good but all I've heard people say about skipjack is that they use them for cut-bait for catfish and Stripes/Rockfish.
