Fishin for trout and I caught my first PIKE! WOWZERS! I hooked him on my first cast using a Rapala Jointed 9 Rainbow Trout lure and in the chaos of netting him and grabbing my pliers to remove the hook (my excited nerves didn’t help) he broke my line! Off he went lure and all. So if you catch a Yampa River Pike with my lure now you know! LOL

      And don't feel too bad. I lost an entire rod and reel once in a very similar way. I had the pike alongside the boat. I let down my guard to pick up my pliers. ...more The pike went crazy, and took off with my entire rod and reel in tow behind him.

      Them pike are nothing but trouble, and that is exactly why I love them so much! Cool post and picture. He's in that picture somewhere, but where is the question ...more . . . ;)
