1. who can tell me what kind of fish this is.. this is where I grew up. recently became an bass angler. we are around 100 miles out on the search for albacore. came ...more across a small kelp bed that broke loose from somewhere south. anyway kelp out this far is protection from the sun. sometimes its holding sometime not. this is where the captain gets mad. cause I underhand cast from the bow as hes setting his drift. so before anyone even has a squid or Chovy... on a hook my real is singing that incredible sound. he wasn't mad for what I did. cause it was perfectly fine under and from the 30 some off the water. what he was mad about is the night before I told everyone I was from Nebraska which wasn't a lie. I just failed to mention that I grew up there and had deckhanded on several commercial rigs in my younger days.. so here's the caption pissed cause at this time I already had 11 albacore two yellowfin tuna and now who knows what kind of fish... ok a hint it has the color yellow in the name this is not a tuna.its a member of the jack family

    1. Capt jack. Has it going on. Dam I need to go to Florida. Never been, some day.!! Nice bass they don't get that big here. There feeding season is short and they ...more have 4 to 6 months of lethargic stage. I believe state records is 9.8 or right around there. Biggest I've landed is 8.4lbs. Are you still an active captain?? Reason if I come down I would like to go after tarpon see if I can get spooled.. when I lived in Hawaii the kalia were just incredible. We used sea weed spears and wove the line up the spear. Put the hook in the grapes on a ten ft. leader from bobber. Sounds easy right. Now you have to get in the surge of sets coming in and crushing the the refs. Fricking can't believe how crazy I was in my younger days. 10ft. Plus waves coming in on the rocks and I'm sliding in between waves and casting into the surge.. man it was so much fun. Then if you hooked up. You have a 20 plus trout.. they just run,, no diving and hiding in the rocks.. just straight out power and they will burn the barring up.. they go 100yds. in 8 or 9 second's there so strong then you have to deal with the waves and reefs levels to actually land one.. Thank you Capt I haven't thought about though days for a long time.. yes Pacific yellowtail.. another reel buster... I have been blessed with fishing.. I've seen and dropped my line in boils of tuna and albacore that will never be seen or experienced by the next generations. Just incredible crazy mornings. Once in 100 foot swells over a hundred miles out. The fishing was just going off so you didnt have time to worry about being in a bowl for more than 2 minutes. If you don't understand write me and I'll explain. Love you all.remeber play nice when its possible if.not Marcus of queens Barry.
