1. Open question to everyone. What are you best picks for a good baitcasting reel and rod to go with it? First comment gets a golden goldfish star 😀

I break so many rods and reels and poles and lose them etc.
Ive had all of them from 10 bucks to 500 . Ijust go cheap now and I catch just as many fish and have ...more just as much fun. Zebco and shakespeare baby, that way i can have 10-12 poles and reels all lined up ready to go and not have to stop and change lures, for the same price as a mid to mid high level rod and reel.

If you want a good all around combo that you can fish multiple lures with I would say a G Loomis e6x cbr series rod in 7'0 matched with a abu or 13 concepts ...more 6.4:1 reel. Even though that rod is specifically made for crank baits, it works very well with jerk baits, weightless plastics, light weight Texas rigs, and numerous other things that require that parabolic tip to do right.
    11. Thanks for the info

The actual rod and reel would depend on what you want to do with it ie flip, topwater, worm, etc... As for brands you can't go wrong with Abu Garcia Revo's ...more or 13 concept reels. Rods I have been a strong follower of G Loomis and love them but just recently discovered Cashion rods and they are simply put amazing for the price.
