It's hard to believe that another year is almost at an end, but I must say that this year my fishing experiences have taken me to the extreme. Let me start off ...more with the beginning of this year for 2017: Didn't have a chance to get out at all for Ice fishing, due to the warm temperatures that started as early as February 2017. The Coho run this year for the Great Lakes was phenomenal, that run started early in March and the run lasted until the middle of June, then the white fish came into the harbor of Port Washington, boy, what a treat that was. Fishing was great all summer long for the Great Lakes. Mid-September is when the Chinook Salmon showed up and they were the biggest that I have seen in quite awhile. The Chinook were averaging 24 Lbs and up. The run was pretty much over by the end of October. Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout will be moving into the harbor very soon. Then it's gang busters from here on out. Looking forward to hard waters this winter and fishing new waters that I've not had the chance to fish before. I'm looking forward to 2018, with the respect of mother-nature cooperating and have another fantastic year with fishing. Tight lines to you all, and have a blessed new year.
