Going surf fishing maybe go to the pier but I any recommendations what reel I should get for around 120 for a bull red to a medium sized shark

  Diawa sealine,penn squall,shimano torium 20 but I use Avets that are 290$ and I would still recommend a 8 1/2 - 9 foot rod.

  I'm not that good with spinning rods but a good penn rod would do. Get one that can hold up to 3-4 ounces and you're all set!

  Penn battle 8000 on a 9' rod would be best.
