1. I know it can depend on a lot of factors but what kind of bite should I be looking for around may on KY lake and Barkley? Ready for spring!

Agree with Jens. Best fishing time is from then to the end of April. Schedule a trip every year. Baits that Ron mentions are really good. Flippin the buck brush ...more with the Texas rig baby brush hog is killer. C-rig brush hogs on lead in points does the trick also. If you find Mustard flowers, try rippin gold with black back rattle trap through them. Got a full moon Apr 4 and May 4 so they should be in prespawn staging in the mouths and secondary points but that all depends on the weather and water temp. Less than 55 degrees probably more towards the mouth, less than 60 secondary points/channels, greater than 60 stack up in deepest ditches in the backs of creeks. Generally I've found that the bigger fish get to the backs of the creeks more towards later April.

I have a trip to Kentucky Lake the 2nd week of April. What will the Bass bite be like a that time.

I would argue with anyone ,that it is the best fishing time of the year on KY lake. Spawn/ post spawn. Fish still in creeks, creek mouths, bays, secondary channels, ...more and ditches, at varying depths and pretty much accomdate anyones fishing strengths. Late May the ledges start to light up.
