Not much has changed in the past month at Cachuma Lake; Catfish are still the best bet. Cut mackerel, night crawlers and chicken liver all took fish weighing up ...more to 6 lbs. Look for the Catfish to be holding in shallow water in the backs of coves. The Bass bite has been a top water bite early and jigs or a drop shot later in the day. Redear and Bluegill can be found in the weed beds in the Mohawk area or in Little Cachuma Bay. Trout numbers should start picking up at the end of September or early October.
