1. Details: Black Grouper with a cut bait and live cigar minnows

Had a great day yesterday on the Vengeance! Caught some big scamp and gag grouper! Had a total of 29 fish. We were tearing them up!

  2. Details: King Mackerel with a king makerel rig, cigar minnow

Trolled a cigar Minnow from the yak about 40 yards past the second sand bar! Biggest king I have caught on the yak by my self! Kinda tricky landing a smoker by yourself ...more but worth the satisfaction!

Thanks for the info and congrats again.
    4. sschneider34 0
Good luck man! Biggest thing is having a reel with good drag because those fish will make any reel scream! Haha @yakattacker24
    5. KJenkins24 0
Haha thanks for the info the kings are running here and I brought my yak and boat so I'm going to go get one myself!
    6. sschneider34 0

    7. sschneider34 0
Down the fish then the third I leave trailing in case I get a short bite but most hook ups happen on the second hook. Then I just slowly troll around. Took about ...more 10 minutes until this guy hammered it!
    8. sschneider34 0
The next two are treble hooks. I hook the j hook through the side of the face below the eyes because there lips tear very easily then the second hook through the ...more top of the back a little over half way
    9. sschneider34 0
The fight was great! I caught like a 4- 5 inch cigar minnow on a sabiki rig then took a kin mackerel rig which is a 3 foot metal leader with 3 hooks in a row at ...more the end the first is just a j hook then
    10. KJenkins24 0
That's sweet! How was the fight on that? And how did you rig your bait?
    11. sschneider34 0
A hobie mirage revolution which is the one I was using when I caught the king @eastonsutley
    12. sschneider34 0
Yeah he pulled me around me pretty good. Once I tightened the drag down on him I was pretty much skipping across the water! And well we have 3 kayaks. 2 ocean kayak ...more Malibu two xl's and
    13. sschneider34 0
Oh yeah it was pretty wild! Thank you @MulletHead
    14. eastonsutley 0
Did he pull you around and what kayak do you have?
    15. Gabe Mitchell 0
Pure epicness! That had to have been a hellava ride. Congrats.
    16. sschneider34 0
I caught it from the kayak. I trolled with the bait and caught when I was about 40 yards out side the second sand bar. I landed him and brought him in the kayak ...more before heading in @jacob_new
    17. jacob jacob 0
U caught it on the kayak? Or yaked bait 40 yards out and fished from the beach?

    2. sschneider34 0
Awe man well it's definitely worth the visit and if you go bring your kayak! My favorite thing to do in destin is go to the second sand bar and catching cigar ...more minnows on a sabiki rig then trolling for
    3. jeanpear reyes 0
Ah nice Destin is on my list for places to visit. I've fished Naples, Ft. Lauderdale, & Miami I didn't get to fish the keys I ran into problems
    4. sschneider34 0
Ohh okay I'll be down in Florida I'm usually doing my surf fishing in the destin area I'll be in grayton beach @jeanpear713
    5. jeanpear reyes 0

    6. sschneider34 0
      Where do you fish? @jeanpear713
    7. jeanpear reyes 0
Yeah the kings are running on my usual jetty spot, the day before I went when I pull my last bull a kid got hit by a bull shark
    8. sschneider34 0
      @jeanpear713
    9. sschneider34 0
Dang I've got a 12 and 10 foot ocean master surf rod. I'm looking forward to catching some big sharks and kings
    10. jeanpear reyes 0
You'll do fine then, my latest purchase was a wright & McGill rod 7'2 medium action with s curve technology, & it's great dude recommended and ...more it has enough power for tarpon
    11. sschneider34 0
Neither do I! They have worked great so far @jeanpear713 the big one has 300 yards of 40 then 150 of 50 braid. The smaller one has 320 yards of 40 braid
    12. jeanpear reyes 0
I have 3 fierce surf rods and I have nothing bad to say about em, 300 yards 50lb braid
    13. Collin Collin 0
I know a lot of people use the Penn 650 for gar, you might want to try one out. @RoostaGarPro
    14. GoB GoB 0
Oh nice reels I just bought the 6000..good stuff
    15. sschneider34 0
      @RoostaGarPro
    16. sschneider34 0
G break but so far they have been great but they price wise they aren't bad. 60-80 dollars depending on the size you get
    17. sschneider34 0
Yeah so far these reels have been great so far! Caught some kings on them and drag handle flawlessly. Haven't been able to put them to the test on a big shark ...more yet I just got them this year before spin
    18. RoostaGarPro 0
@sschneider34 Are these some pretty sturdy reels? I have wanted to get some penn spinning reels but haven't found any that I like. Need a smooth drag and a ...more good ratio. Pricey?

      That's a big bag! @cameron_mcclellan
    7. cameron_mcclellan 0
It's like 3 feet tale ad a foot wide @sschneider34
    8. sschneider34 0

    10. cameron_mcclellan 0
The penn bag is a quality pice of work,
    11. sschneider34 0
Alright well thanks! @cameron_mcclellan I got a hard decision now in which one to go with haha
    12. cameron_mcclellan 0
You would it has two other compartments for your plastics @sschneider34
    13. sschneider34 0
I am usually carrying at the least 10 different soft plastic bags at time. Would I have room for that? @cameron_mcclellan
    14. sschneider34 0
I looked it up and it has the rod holders too. But with the 3 trays in there and the cooler part full. How much room is left for soft plastics and other stuff. Because ...more I mainly fish soft plastics so
    15. sschneider34 0
Alright I'll look at it! The thing that has me about the spider wire are the rod straps on it so I can carry 2 other rods while fishing around ponds and stuff ...more @cameron_mcclellan
    16. cameron_mcclellan 0
@sschneider34 I have a penn back pack and it's bad to the bone. I comes with three penn tackle boxes and has a lot of compartments. It is 60-70 bucks at dicks ...more and is very light.
