I live in north western Indiana on Koontz Lake so fishing has always been a part of my program. Just because I live here, it doesn't confine ...more me to this lake. In fact, I find the water bluer elsewhere and tend to fish the other lakes more. And that includes The St. Joe River and Lake Michigan. In both Indiana and Michigan. Love eating walleye and perch but have never found anything wrong with fried bluegills on my dinner plate. Have done a lot of hard water fishing in the past, but as I've gotten older, my legs just can't take it any more. After one or two trips ice fishing I find that I'm satisfied and no longer have the urge to be out there jigging a pole. Trolling a downrigger ball is more to my calling or was until the price of gas went through the roof. 35 35 gallons of oil-mixed gas hits me kinda hard in the wallet so I'm back to the basic lake and river fishing. An occasional 20lb. catfish brings me back to my youthful feeling and I am found asking my kids, now in their 30's, along with me to share in the fun. I get more out of watching them catch something than I'd ever get out of catchin em myself. Grandkids even more so. Don't know this site and only joined this week but look forward to meeting other members. Sure that I already know a lot of them in my area. Oh, I also am into making a lot of my own tackle. Jigs, spinners spoons and flies. Pretty well rounded when the subject of fishing comes up.
