  1. Details: Channel Catfish with a Stink bait

Night fishing at rough Creek Lodge in Glen rose Texas. Not sure what type of rod and reel is was( not mine) but had 12 lb mono on it and using a 4/0 circle hook ...more with a 20lb mono leader.

I agree with @SwampMafia and @MulletHead I use a heavier leader a lot just because I fish a lot of rocky areas, and it helps the abrasion resistance, but if I'm ...more fishin community ponds my leader = my

It probably was @SwampMafia it was just a cheap reel they had.
    4. Swamp Mafia 0
The reel looks like a Zebco (33)?

I came to say what @MulletHead said. Both ways have benefits in either configuration, and neither is wrong.
    6. cole_agouridis 0
There were lots of rocks and stumps @MulletHead

Unless I'm worried about abrasion near my bait (from rocks, gar, etc). Then I'll use a high test leader.
    8. Gabe Mitchell 0
Depends on what type if fishing you were doing. For drift fishing, you want your leader to break first, so you use a lighter test. For bait soaking, I usually ...more don't use a leader...

You have it backwards the lighter line is supposed to be the leader and the heavier line is supposed to be the main line you use @coastalangleragouridis

What do you think @MulletHead @swampmafia @Cowboy713 about using a leader ^^^. Do you agree with @williamd1999 @porterburke1
    11. porterburke1 0
      GET OFF ME BOOEEEY @coastalangleragouridis
    12. William William 0
I'm glad you feel that way because making fun of porters followers just goes to show you have nothing els to say. And he's right if your using 12 pound mono ...more and a 20 pound mono "leader" is pointless.
    13. cole_agouridis 0
      Your right @williamd1999
    14. porterburke1 0
And by the way a persons line is only as strong as it's weakest point so throwing 12 pound mono with a 20 pound "leader" isn't going to do anything ...more @coastalangleragouridis
    15. William William 0
Cole a persons amount of followers shouldn't matter that's not what this app is about. I'm sure ol' porter is just messing with ya.
