Much of the reservoir is in Tennessee so be mindful that you must stay on the Virginia side if you only have a Virginia fishing license and the opposite goes for Tennessee fishermen.
Catfish, walleye, and musky are stocked annually.
Both the smallmouth and trout have been stocked. Smallmouth populations appear to be in good shape and should provide ample fishing opportunity.
