Single 4/0 barbless circle hook tied to 10lb lead line that’s attached to 20lb main line via barrel swivel.(forget size on swivel, sorry)
Apply blood worm securely ...more and fished between 16’ and 24’ depth, 2 poles ea. Started at 9:30am, high tide was just about over, but we had decent luck this day during 1st low tide, enough to keep us wanting more anyway. 2nd high tide the bites and fish were plenty and often. Just as the tide and action were long gone, I hear my buddy yell, “Fenwick”!!!!!!, ! I spun around grabbed it from the rod holder and the 20 min fight was already happening without me. Fish had hit that bait with such speed and power!!!!!!!!!, I thought aloud to whomever was listening, “it’s bigger than any striper I ever had battled before”, “it seemed as if I didn’t pick the rod up, that the battle was going to be over quickly and instantaneously because of the raw power of this big fish snapping/breaking my fav fenwick rod off in the rod holder before ever setting my hands on it”
Absolute hog(for us that is)(previous biggest ever under 30lbs). It weighed in at 41lbs. And over 40”
Why the rule change and why this year😂😂😂
The fish lives on, and so will all the memories of the day as for it was the greatest outing............greatest so far, that is.
“We’ll be back to fish on and create many many more memories”
