Chenango River Fishing Reports

Recently shared catches and fishing spots

  1. Black Crappie with a Hali Sukkula Jigs

  2. Details: Boat Launch

This is really the only "safe" place to fish a Chenango with a large bass boat. We fish here routinely with boats that are 20 feet long with big motors. ...more However, you have to be very careful. There are many shallow locations, and trees that fall down or get dragged in floods. You have very limited access below the launch, as the water gets very shallow and rocky about 100 yrds south. You can run about 6 miles north, but I don't venture more than a mile above the old train bridge near the gold course (yes, be on the lookout for golf balls). Many species of fish: smallmouth, walleye, and northern pike are dominant, but occasional trout and largemouth bass can also be caught in this stretch. The launch is safe, and costs 5 dollars.
