You won't be sorry. You'll see some larger trout too. So, hang on. It may take a few misses to get the hang of it. It did me. Be sure you count to 5 or even ...more ten, if they're taking it out slow, before pulling up on your rod.

Erin You need live finger mullet, 3-4" long. If you have an Academy, or Dicks Sporting Goods, buy some silver "chatter" weights, made here in Houston. ...more Buy the smallest silver weights, 5 to a pack. Tie on the weight to your fishing line, and use a 20 or 30 pound leader, about 20" long, with a 4.0 or 5.0 Circle hook for trout. Let the line sink to the bottom and hold your rod at about a 45 degree angle. Keep the line taught. When you feel the slightest bump, lower your rod tip in front of you and count to five. By then the trout should have sucked in the mullet and is moving away with it. Don't jerk your rod up too hard. Just pull back on it quickly and the fish hooks itself. Trout hate mullet because they eat their eggs. If a trout is near and sees a mullet swimming, it will attack it. If you jerk the rod back hard, sometimes you'll pull the mullet out of the trouts mouth. Good Luck.
