Fishing is starting to pick up on the reservoir and below the dam. The stilling basin and the Arkansas River below the dam have produced large catfish, saugeye and ...more striper using minnows and worms. The reservoir has produced a few crappies using bright jigs along the rocky coves on the north and south shores near the dam. White bass and wiper are being caught by the dozens out of the reservoir on similar jigs as crappie. Drum bluegill, carp, and walleye have also been caught in the reservoir, but with varying frequency.
