It was only 21",however in a small river 15 minutes from my house it's quite tempting. I can catch bigger ones on Mille Lacs but the experience is not nearly ...more as satisfying.

They just don't get longer than 21-22 in this river as it's shallow and small, but they get fat.

nice fish! how long? not sure how serious you are about getting a mounter and it’s probably a 4+ hr drive from you but minimum size limit it 22” and not uncommon ...more to catch up to 24-25”

Yea I only keep Crappies in the winter i let every fish go, but eventually I want to mount a Smallie after years of catch and release.
