      I knew it wasn't Atlantic ìt didn't have freshwater dogfish às category before. I didn't know it was also called a bowfin so thx for your help

      I wouldn't have said anything if i didn't first read on it heavily. A "freshwater dogfish" is a bowfin. Its just a slang term. Every search agreed ...more with me too. Also found the phrase "is a dogfish a bowfin" is a pretty popular search lol. When clicking those sites too all said yes it is a bowfin. Need a count of anal rays to rule out a burbot but the colors don't look like lota lota. But an Atlantic spiney dogfish is most definitely a saltwater shark my friend lol. I love fish identification! Big or small, gotta catch um all. 🎣

      looks like a bowfin but it's not and they dont have a freshwater dogfish category prob cause this is an American site

      A spiny dogfish is a type of shark lol. That is bow fin.
