You asked what bait to use for Muskie and there is no great answer. I have had them hit on small crank baits and fake frogs to a 3-4lb bass I was reeling ...more in. What you need to have is steel leaders and strong (30-120 lb) line, a heavy duty net, and in a boat, enough floor space to put a really pissed off wild animal with big teeth and lots of them, a jaw spreader a needle nose and a pliers and someone to hold this beast down while you get your bait back.
