I was invited by a Nikko customer to go mostly croaker fishing. Last week, he got almost 200, over half on Nikko tadpoles & wanted to do it again. Well, it was a tough bite. Nothing over 10" all day. Got some on Nikko squid strips, FishBites & real squid strips. Just 10 minutes on the water, stopped by state cops for inspection. It seemed one of them was determined to write us up, & frustrated..

      when i was fishing for a living in the 80's when stripers were first banded from catching i was checked at least 3 times a day and every time they would check ...more everything i asked why they would say we forget ha ha

      Just because everything is legit doesn't mean you don't have to worry about interactions with police, but I know what you mean. It's easier to speak ...more w/the game wardens. @TaylorG

      was a good decision to keep quiet...i always try to be nice and strike up conversation with the wardens and park police around austin. of course ive got no worries ...more me and my boat are legit

      @TaylorG I kept my mouth shut. The one cop seemed to want to ruin someone else's day. That aside, these were state cops far from my home, not the local game ...more wardens. But the point is valid.

      @seaturtles Yep! Used the Gloucester Point boat ramp. We covered same ground as you & that I did on a VIMS summer program many years ago. BTW, I caught a "spider ...more crab".

      ...that he couldn't find a violation. He even checked a database of some kind. Very few boats out today, so maybe tough to meet his quota, or maybe just wanted ...more to be a bada## in front of his coworkers
