Walking down the bank I spot fished a bowfin and casted about 15 feet in front of it to work the crank towards him to initiate a strike, but as soon as I reeled a few times this bass comes out of nowhere and slams it! Needless to say after the fight, the bowfin disappeared but I got a sweet bass out of it. Guess the creek is first come first serve.
