What a fish to start the year with! Went out early this morning and landed this 8-9lb beast. First cast I was working the spook parallel to structure through schools of shad and he destroyed it. Hooked it in maybe 12 FOW, water temp was chilly, air temp was high 30s to low 40s, and mostly clear skies. The very next cast I lost another 6-8lber, he jumped once and spit the spook. Tight lines y'all!

      I'm just saying there's a lot of weight between 8-9 and having a scale is just better to have than guessing

      @garrettgilmer you can, but you can't run a gas motor so you can only use your trolling motor to get around. Plus, the boat ramp is way down the lake so it's ...more hard to get to the fish
