Two male sockeye in the spawning phase. After a 2,500 mile round trip they have returned to the Adam's River system to spawn and die. In the 3 weeks since they entered freshwater the males have turned from sleek silver bodied fish into these beautiful specimens; red bodies with a pronounced hump, green head and dark hooked jaws. Ready to impress the ladies!
