January freshwater trout can be hard to catch but it can be done. Accuracy in winter is crucial. In small rivers and streams that hold trout, look for places where current hits rock and creates small rapids. The best spots are going to be small rapids with 3'-5' of water on the downstream side of the rocks. The trout hold close to the bottom in gaps in the current created by the rocks⬇️⬇️
