So.. I'm sure a lot of people are sick of the selfies and bickering on here lately.. I know I am.. Only thing to do is to post your own fish pic!! One of the many 8lb+ Walters from this fall.. Unfortunately we still do not have safe ice! To deal with this.. Made a new Instagram page with 4 other anglers from Nebraska called PigPatrol.. We would all appreciate it A LOT if you checked it out.

What a beauty! We don't have safe ice either, here it's been mixed, it gets nice and cold then warms up its very irritating

      Okay thanks for your help

They feed all year round, on all sorts of baits. If the later is that cold, you will almost have to use ice fishing tactics, and fish vertically. Could be off a ...more boat or a dock. @fishin_man

Of water. Do they shut down at all and feed less or are they active all year?

And I may be incorrect the water temp is probably a bit colder more like 33 so I was just wondering if having a boat would up my chances to catch any or if it is ...more pretty well impossible in this cold

I fished from the shore on Sunday. And used grubs, live minnows, jerkbaits, soft paddle tail swimbaits... All fished pretty slow on the bottom, and I didn't ...more get anything!! Not even a nibble or a bump!

I caught most of mine on very aggressive retrieves, 38-48 degree, 6-15' water. You can easily catch them, pre ice, and on ice. Just use slower smaller presentations. ...more Rattle baits should still work to.

Is it possible to catch them in those conditions? If so how??

How do you catch walleyes in lakes over the winter, I'm talking before the ice come. I want to catch one but have no clue how to. It is freezing and the water ...more temps are really low too. (30-38 degrees)
