Few more shots of that massive sunfish! Look at the hook in it's mouth, that's a standard sized bass hook. And look at him compared to my body (keeping in mind that my arm IS out a little bit, but not much)

      At the right time of the year with the right rigs you can get on beds in deep water you can catch 1lb bluegill almost consistently and usually get several 2+lb shellys

      Dang! I've always caught small 3-4inch sunfish for gar and catfish bait. And then one night, just fishing for bass, and this giant guy hits. But consistent 1+lb

      Ok we catch 1+lb gills and shellcrackers all the time here on bass gear I think the biggest hook I have seen one get was a 3/0 jig the gill was about 3/4lb
