I'm hoping to catch some pompano next weekend in the Port Aransas surf, but I don't really know how far to cast out into the surf. I've tried using sand fleas to catch them, but whiting and other small fish always seem to steal my bait... any ideas? Oh I'm also going to the bay for a few days and I've never fished there before and I'm not really sure what to expect... thanks for any help!
