Ever wondered what the scales of the plecostomus look like up close?? Well under the microscope today we found out they look like this!

      @IowaAnglers I agree, & my professor also says they CAN actually be prepared & taste very very good, although it takes work. And trust me he'd know! ...more Plus, it's just an incredibly engineered fish!

      Oh and also her ovaries were huge and bursting with eggs so we did do Texas a favor and take them out and look and them under the microscope too, so, no baby pleco ...more from her!

      I never expected for these scales to look so cool, but I should post another photo of the pleco's underside skin under magnification as well. I'm on it!
