How should I fish these this time of year in a river with not much brush just big trees and logs? Or if there's something else I should use?

Dude, your fishing candle ridge park? I fish that park all the time! Probably because I live a block a way from it! Just swim it normally. How long are those? @branson_wilson

I would be looking for bass beds and bouncing it on them, also swim it to the logs and lit it sink twitch it up let it sink and that should trigger a bite.
