Hooked into this about 200 yards off of the beach on a carrot Stix rod and Abu Garcia 5600 reel. 20 min fight. Surf is awesome!

J.D. J.D. 0We were in an 18' Gulf Coast. The Makos run a little deeper I believe but you should be good out in the surf.

jam6lime 0What type of boat were u in... I have a 191 Mako with 150hp, but I've been skittish about taking it to the surf side... Scared it won't make it, any thoughts?
