  I usually bay fish with 8lb dia 30lb braid . But the teeth on a bowfin are razor sharp like a shark tooth almost just smaller . I've watched my buddy break off ...more plenty of times fishing 30-50lb braid.

  80lb braid?! I used to run 50lb in a pond with very very thick algae and I never broke off. Try 50lb next time you spool and you'll get more line on you're ...more reel.
